* William of Conches (c.1090-c.1154) (French):
- William of Conches was a French scholastic philosopher who sought to expand the bounds of Christian humanism by studying secular works of the classics and fostering empirical science. William, born in Conches (Normandy), was one of the most famous masters of the schools which flourished in Northern France during the first half of the 12th century.

* Roger II (1095-1154) (The Norman King - Roger II of Sicily):
- Roger II was King of Sicily, son of Roger I of Sicily and successor to his brother Simon. He began his rule as Count of Sicily in 1105, later became Duke of Apulia and Calabria (1127), then King of Sicily (1130). Roger had succeeded in uniting all the Norman conquests in Italy into one kingdom with a strong centralized government. Vua Roger II là người Norman.

* Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179) (German) (composer) (female):
- Blessed Hildegard of Bingen also known as Saint Hildegard, and Sybil of the Rhine, was a writer, composer, philosopher, Christian mystic, German Benedictine abbess, visionary, and polymath. Elected a magistra by her fellow nuns in 1136, she founded the monasteries of Rupertsberg in 1150 and Eibingen in 1165. One of her works as a composer, the Ordo Virtutum, is an early example of liturgical drama.
